How to Deal with Change

Acceptance

Simply put there is nothing we can do about change except accept it. It is in the acceptance of change that we are able to act from a positive place. Resistance to change or to anything creates restriction. Restriction creates a lack of flow in our lives making us feel stifled, unhappy and filled with fear. Fear of change is one of the most crippling and dysfunctional feelings we can have. Fear paralyzes and does not allow you to have free flowing creativity, intuition and access the innate ability we all possess to move forward.Embrace change, realize and accept that change is part of life and without it we cannot grow. It is in meeting the challenges of change that we learn about ourselves more than at any other time and we can take that knowledge into our lives as wisdom to be applied to future events that inevitably will occur. Embrace the change, apply the wisdom you have learnt from it do not fear the outcome and you’ll be surprised by who you become and how beautiful change can be in your life.

Do Not Dwell On The Past

Change means you are leaving something behind. The past is gone. You cannot recapture it, but you can learn from it. That is what our past experiences are for, to learn from. The good, the bad and everything in between! Do not dwell on what has been. Look forward with vision to using your new found wisdom to execute your vision of your future. Dwell on what makes you feel good, imagine it, feel it, then live it.  Know you have unique gifts and abilities. Build and keep faith in yourself. Without it nothing is possible. Have your mind focus only on what it is that you want now. Process the past, understand it, file it away in its appropriate folder then move on. You cannot build a future by living in the past.

 Forward Momentum

Whatever we try to do, the most difficult thing is getting started. Once we get started the inertia, the forward momentum propels us on. We have to execute the change in our lives. We have to turn the engine on and rev up the motor. Do not remain stagnant for too long in the midst of change. The longer you remain stationary before moving forward, the harder it is to get going. Reflect on what the past means to you, the effect it has had then move forward. Make a plan, execute it and you will find as you execute the plan, if you keep that forward momentum going, moving into the future and letting go the past you will embrace everything your vision of your future has shown you. It has to, if you keep moving forward you will by default leave your past behind!
